KINGSBAY 1-WALL SINGLES IN CONJUNCTION WITH USHA WOMENS DOUBLES STOP - Sunday February 27th, 2005 - Brooklyn, NY

The Collegiates set this week theme as the next generation and the Kingsbay tournament followed in its footsteps. In the round of 16 Mike Schneider defeated Robert Sostre, Allan Sanchez upset Rookie Wright and Victor LoPierre outlasted Paul Williams. This was Sanchez's day as he continued his roll by defeating junior standout LoPierre to make it to the semis.

In the semis, Jagnandan and Sala advanced fairly easily as expected. When Cesar and Satish face each other you can usually expect a war. Cesar jumped out with a nice lead only to lose 25-23.

The newly added A singles got a nice response. 16 year old Stan Zavoyskiy, who ran the tournament (which is an accomplishment in itself), lost to Jon Iglesias in the finals.

Lori Acevedo and Theresa McCourt teamed up after finding themselves without partners. It turned out to be a good decision. The youngsters lost only one match in route to winning the championship.
