MOST ATHLETES DREAM OF WINNING A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR SATISH JAGNANDAN THIS MAY HAPPEN SOON. SATISH HAS ONE GOAL AND THAT IS TO BECOME THE UNITED STATES ONE-WALL HANDBALL NATIONAL CHAMPION. MANY PLAYERS DON’T HAVE WHAT THIS ATHLETE HAS. SATISH HAS THE BEST SERVE EVER SEEN IN RECENT HANDBALL. HE ALSO HAS AN ALL AROUND STRONG GAME. SATISH IS A YOUNG AND SMART PLAYER; HE HAS ALL THE RIGHT MECHANICS TOO. HE HAS A STRONG WEAK HAND, BLISTERING SPEED, AND CAN KILL THE BALL FROM ANYWHERE ON THE COURT. HE DESERVE’S TO WIN. HE PRACTICES EVERY DAY, AND VISUALIZES HIS QUEST. HE IS ALSO A NICE GUY AND RESPECTFUL TOO. 

HERE ARE SOME OF SATISH JAGNANDAN’S HANDBALL ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 

AT AGE 14 HE WON HIS 1ST MAJOR TOURNAMENT, THE 1990 USHA JUNIOR SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP. HE KEPT UP HIS WINNING WAYS.

2ND PLACE 1995 CONEY ISLAND SINGLES TOURNAMENT

1ST PLACE 1996 PEAK BIG BLUE SINGLES TOURNAMENT

1ST PLACE 1997 ICHA BIG BLUE “B” SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP

SEMI-FINALIST 1997 ICHA BIG BLUE “OPEN” SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP, DEFEATED BY BUDDY GANTT

1ST PLACE 1998 CONEY ISLAND BIG BLUE SINGLES TOURNAMENT 1

1ST PLACE 1998 CONEY ISLAND BIG BLUE SINGLES TOURNAMENT 2

1995-2001 HAS WON NUMEROUS “BIG BLUE HANDBALL” PARK TOURNAMENTS (AROUND 20). SATISH LOST THREE TIMES DURING THESE YEARS. HE LOST TWICE TO “ROOKIE” IN THE QUARTER FINALS, OF THE WEST 4TH STREET TOURNAMENTS.

2001 MAYOR’S CUP DEFEATED BY ROBERT SOSTRE IN THE QUALIFIER OF THE BRONX/QUEENS FINALS.

1ST PLACE 2001 THE 3RD ANNUAL PETE GARCIA CLASSIC, BAILEY PARK

2001 USHA ONE-WALL NATIONALS LOST TO JOE DURSO IN THE SECOND ROUND.

SATISH JAGNANDAN IS NOT ONLY A GREAT HANDBALL PLAYER. HE ALSO WAS A MATH TEACHER WORKING IN THE NEW YORK CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS SYSTEM. SATISH HAS A MASTERS DEGREE IN MATHEMATICS, AND IS NOW PURSUING HIS PH.D. AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY. HE IS ALSO ATTENDING CITY COLLEGE OF NEW YORK FOR ADMINISTRATION AND SUPERVISION. HE HOPE’S TO TEACH MATH AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL, AND HIS DREAM IS TO BECOME A PRINCIPAL ONE DAY.

SATISH EXCELS ON AND OFF THE COURT, A TRUE ROLE MODEL FOR THE YOUTH OF TODAY.

HIS DREAM TO BECOME THE ONE-WALL HANDBALL NATIONAL CHAMPION WILL BE MET IN THE FUTURE, AND MANY PLAYERS IN THE SPORT OF HANDBALL FEEL HE COULD BE THE SINGLES ONE-WALL HANDBALL CHAMPION FOR YEARS TO COME.
